You will not want to miss this week’s Nature of Beauty Live!
My esteemed beauty experts and I are going to discuss the goal of bringing non-toxic beauty to the mainstream beauty market. In the past week, I’ve seen at least two articles claiming that “green beauty has officially gone mainstream.” To be honest, I don’t buy it. Pseudo-green beauty has, to be sure. And greenwashing is the marketing practice du jour. But what about real natural and organic beauty products? My experience is that the average woman still regards them as inferior to what she finds at Sephora.
So what would it take to bring real toxin-free beauty to Main Street? And, perhaps of equal importance, do we want it to go there? Might there be some undesirable consequences to mass-marketing all-natural skin care and makeup? Those are the questions we will seek to answer this week on Nature of Beauty Live.
Our guest panel will include two of my favorite beauty experts. I am thrilled to welcome Ms. Elizabeth Dehn to the show. Ms. Dehn is perhaps the best-known beauty and fashion writer in Minnesota, as well as the fast-rising star of beauty blogs, with her newly-launched BeautyBets.com. Elizabeth is a fan of all types of beauty products, while also appreciating and supporting what those of us in the green beauty biz are doing.
Elena Lipson, founder of The Eco Diva, will be our other guest, to share her thoughts on the topic, drawing on her own extensive knowledge about the beauty industry and, in particular, what the world of non-toxic beauty has to offer.
I think this is going to be a fantastic, much-needed discussion.
